Bridging Communication Cultures
This edition of Forum includes coverage and photos from the 2005 CCM gathering in Pittsburgh, May 12-14, on the theme “Bridging Communication Cultures.” You'll find even more pictures in our 2005 photo album . Tex Sample amused and inspired with stories and encouragement to learn the practices of oral, literate and electronic cultures. Stephen Kriss led a discussion about Mennonites and globalization. And Gifti Nadi shared about her work facilitating the training of women in media with the African Women’s Media Center, a program of the International Women’s Media Foundation. Off-site seminars included trips to the Union Project, Thomas Merton Center and Christian Associates TV, which included reflections on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood and information about Presbyterian Media Mission. And there were Saturday morning seminars exploring effective graphic design, online communities, and pitching stories to newspapers.
